About Me

Hi I’m Kev Dean, I am a Forty something who has lived a varied existence from being a skinny kid at school to being young and strong in my 20’s, through to being the big guy in my 30’s but I have now found health and fitness once again. I am a scuba diving instructor and fitness enthusiast who loves to be active both in the water and in the gym. I love to lift weights but I also love to challenge myself in other areas of fitness such as OCR (Obstacle Course Races), competing regularly in Tough Mudder and other such events. I ran a half marathon in 2017 which, at the time, for someone who “can’t” and doesn’t do running was quite an achievement (I have quotient this because I now believe there is no such thing as Can’t)! I have since proved this further to myself by going on to run the virtual London Marathon which I completed in 2021. I think my next challenge will be to climb Kilimanjaro so maybe I'll get to that one soon!

Whilst working on getting myself back to fitness I began thinking; Isn’t the human body an amazing piece of equipment? Is there no end to its possibilities and what people can do with it when we train it in the right way? We can achieve amazing things with our bodies but training of any sort can have its issues, cold muscles prior to training or a slight incorrect movement during training can end up resulting in restrictions or pain during movement or sometimes even injuries can occur.

I set up Freedom In Motion because I want to help people to be better, fitter, healthier versions of themselves. To do this I have trained in a number of different ways and techniques so that I can offer the correct services to everyone from the sedentary to the super fit!!
